Nokia is well known for producing foolproof, easy-to-use handsets and the 2600 Nokia Classic is no exception.
The Nokia 2600 is quite striking to look at. It is a simple and glossy candy bar handset with an electric orange trimming around the middle buttons and a shiny metallic navigation pad. The 2600 is very light, weighing in at only 73 grams, and is also very thin. While there are probably more sturdy handsets on the market, the 2600 is more than able to handle everyday wear and tear.
The phone’s menu display, despite some lag experienced when opening folders, is clear and functional. As with all Nokia handsets, the user interface is well set out and easy to use. The 16- bit screen provides a bright and crisp viewing experience. The keypad on the Nokia 2600 is a little small, pokey, and can take a bit of getting used to as the keys are not as sensitive as some other handsets.
Despite its basic appearance, the Nokia 2600 packs in a surprisingly large set of features. Nokia have included a media player, a voice recorder and an FM radio, so you can entertain yourself on the go. The 2600 only has a limited storage however, so make sure that you only include your favourite tracks. Bluetooth 2.0 is also present, as well as a VGA camera. There is also a great selection of PIM functions, including a calendar, calculator, stopwatch, alarm clock and a converter.
