It only takes one look at the Samsung i617T to realise this is a professional device. The glossy black finish, wide yet thin design with 2.5-inch display, and full QWERTY keypad is for the businessperson with style. 

A closer look at the keypad reveals small but raised buttons, which are very easy to use once you get used to them. The numbers on the keypad are shown in grey, in contrast to the other keys that are black. This small design feature makes numbers much easier to dial. In addition to the keypad, the i617T sports a five-way navigational pad that doubles as a thumb wheel and can be rotated for quicker access to menus.

The i617T runs the Windows Mobile 6 operating system, so it is able to synchronise contacts, calendar and tasks with Microsoft Outlook. You can also view and edit documents, a handy feature of this operating system. Mobile versions of Windows Media Player 10, Internet Explorer and Messenger are all here in the i617T, while the Office Mobile package bundles Excel, PowerPoint, Word and OneNote applications. While the i617T does not have Wi-Fi, it does come with a USB cable for connectivity.

Multimedia features are fine, and while the handset does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack, it does come with an adapter, meaning you can use your regular headphones to achieve the best sound quality.

The i617T boasts a 2.0-megapixel camera, although it doesn’t have a flash. You can then store your images on the 100MB of internal memory, or using the microSD card slot that is found inside a plastic cover on the right side of the handset. The Samsung i617T model also comes with a built-in GPS receiver, so with this device you’ll never be lost.
