The HTC Incredible S is a small, steady and reliable smartphone which uses the Android platform. Boasting a high quality camera phone, a brilliant display and sturdy design, this smartphone is well-worth a closer look.
The design of the HTC Incredible S is sleek, curvy and some will see aesthetic similarities between this phone and the HTC Desire. It presents the same face as other HTC phones, except that it boasts a whopping 4-inch WVGA display. The capacitive touchscreen is protected with Gorilla Glass, the same stuff used in helicopter windows and the iPhone 4. The sharp and super bright display is very responsive and satisfying to the eyes.
On the rear of the phone is the camera and an external speaker. Users will need to dig out the battery before they can reach the SIM card and MicroSD card which lie beneath. The 3.5mm headphone jack sits on top of the HTC incredible S.
The HTC Incredible S runs Sense 2.1, something we think users will find easy to use and operates smoothly. The Application menu is split into three easy categories: All, Frequent and Downloaded. Another exciting feature is the quick access to the settings, which can be accessed via a curtain which pulls down, allowing you to switch things like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on and off. Like most good smartphones, users have a number of ways they can personalise the main menu so everything they need is literally at their fingertips.
The 8-megapixel camera on the HTC Incredible S is crisp, bright and is capable of capturing the finer detail. Unfortunately, like most camera phones, photos taken in lower lit conditions can be dull and blurry, even with the dual-LED flash.
The music player on the Incredible S offers great sound quality and the music list is easy to swipe through, however with a storage space of only 1.1GB (for apps as well), you may find you’ll need to make use of the 8GB MicroSD card which the phone comes with.
The HTC Incredible S offers a fast and reliable user experience with the 1GHz processor. The specs and special features don’t stray too far from the HTC Desire, but it’s certainly an improvement. The camera is a pleasure to look at, and the camera is better than most. If you’re after a smartphone with a brilliant display and access to apps to go about your daily business, the HTC Incredible S will be an excellent choice.
