The Motorola W510 is a quad band GSM mobile phone designed to be used all over the world. Known around the shops as being the ‘budget KRZR’, this Motorola flip phone is great for people who are looking to have a stylish handset and good functionality in a budget mobile phone.
Motorola’s KRZR didn’t do so well in the marketplace, probably because of its cost, but the W510’s budget price has made it much more popular. Featuring an impressive battery life of seven and a half hours talk time and 350 hours standby time, this cheap phone outlasts some of its more pricey competitors.
For a flip phone, the screen display is quite large, and its colour display shows up to 262 thousand unique colours. However, the phone itself is quite small and weighs in at only just over 100 grams.
The Motorola W510 has a 1.3 megapixel camera, which is not quite up to the size of more modern phones, but is good enough to take a few simple shots. You also get a smaller built-in secondary display on the outer phone casing, a music player with expandable memory via MicroSD cards, Bluetooth capability for wireless data transfer, a speakerphone and email capability. The kids will like the push to talk walkie-talkie feature they can use around the house.
As the Motorola W510 is the ‘budget KRZR’, it does lack a few prominent modern features, like high-speed 3G capabilities and Wi-Fi accessibility for internet. Not having these two features in other mobile phones would be a real issue, but as the Motorola W510 isn’t aimed at the higher end of the market, the loss of the these functions mightn’t be too much of an issue for its younger target audience.
