A sliding sister of the N79, the Nokia N85 is the epitome of Nokia style and quality.
While some Nokia handsets look and feel a bit chunky, the N85 is smooth and fairly compact, considering what is crammed inside. Rather than feeling heavy, this Nokia handset rests comfortably in your hand and gives of the impression of excellent build quality-a rare feeling for a slide phone.
Sliding open the face exposes a well designed numeric keypad that is flat but tactile, complementing the navigation keys on the front. The display is OLED rather that a regular LCD screen, giving you fantastic picture quality and brightness without draining your battery. The Nokia N85 also has a built in accelerometer so the screen orientation will automatically change depending on which feature you are using.
When looking at features, you are definitely spoilt for choice with the Nokia N85. A 5-megapixel camera with dual LED flash and great functions like auto focus will have you snapping away with ease. Nokia have also put effort into making the N85 a great music player, with a 3.5mm headphone jack, dedicated music keys and a sophisticated music player interface that gives you plenty of playing options including an FM radio and the ability to make playlists.
Connections wise as well, the N85 has all you need. Wi-Fi, HSDPA, Bluetooth and GPS ensure that you will never be without connection or direction. Nokia Maps comes pre-loaded so you can figure out where you are easily, and the Opera Mini browser can be downloaded for free to provide a great web browsing experience.
With the Nokia N85 you can also connect to your computer via the mini USB port, or even to your car speakers using the in built FM transmitter. Similar to an iTrip attached to an iPod, this great little addition means you can allocate your phone a frequency that can then be picked up by your car radio. A microSD card slot at the back gives you the ability to stock the N85 with even more music and make the most of the excellent features this phone has to offer.
