The Samsung E1070 is a compact little device, perfect for someone who needs a simple tool for communicating. 

The E1070 weighs only 65 grams, but feels sturdy and well made. The 1.38-inch display is very bright and is easy to see, even on the brightest of days. The main controls include two call handling keys, two soft keys and a 5-way navigation pad. The centre button delivers you straight to the menu, which is very handy. The numerical keypad has a strong blue backlight and buttons are large enough for the elderly to see and use with ease.

Unfortunately, the E1070 has no internal memory, so there’s no Java or MMS support. It is also lacking in Bluetooth capabilities. It does include other features however, including a timer, calendar, currency converter and a handy flashlight feature. This feature turns the display white, and is great for doing things like finding the right key for your door in the dark. 

When locked the standby screen on the Samsung E1070 tells you if you have missed a call or have any unread messages with just the press of a button. The operating system employed in this device is also very, very fast.  
The sound quality of the E1070 is not perfect, but it’s not bad either. Ringtone volume is good, and this Samsung model offers you a number of different profiles that can be altered to change ringtone and vibration settings.
