Blackberry has improved the RIM Smartphone with a new LinkedIn application that facilitates social networking for business professionals.
Blackberry’s new application connects a range of LinkedIn services to a business professional’s smartphone including Network Updates, Search, Connections, Invitations, Messages and Reconnect.
On their website, the ‘LinkedIn Mobile Team’ confirms that the Blackberry Platform is a top priority for which they will release further additions and enhancements throughout 2010.
”We've worked hard to develop an application that takes advantage of the unique capabilities of the BlackBerry platform,” says LinkedIn’s senior Product Manager Chad Whitney in his Blog
"Based on customer feedback from the announcement at the BlackBerry Developer Conference, we spent extra time implementing deep integration with BlackBerry Mail, Contacts and Calendar, the full experience of which is now available to BlackBerry devices with operating system 4.6 or later," he says.
Blackberry customers can keep in touch with their business networks as the LinkedIn application adds and merges all their contact information to their smartphone address book, sends LinkedIn messages to the Blackberry email application and adds personal profiles to Blackberry calendars for scheduled meetings and events.
According to Whitney’s blog, the LinkedIn application – which is free to download on the LinkedIn website – works on the BlackBerry Tour, Curve, and Bold devices running Blackberry OS v4.3 or later.
