The Sony Ericsson T715 is a slide phone that combines a bit of Sony Ericsson’s music focused handset technology with some of their camera centric models, resulting in a refreshingly simple phone with great features.

Aesthetically, the T715 is elegant and understated. Brushed aluminium in silver or pink is combined with quality black plastic to make a professional looking handset. It is small and light, fitting nicely into a jacket pocket or handbag.

3G and HSPA support is provided in this Sony Ericsson model for fast data transfers, internet browsing, video calls and other similar endeavours. There are web applications like Google Maps included in the software to make the most of these functions. The T715’s operating system is the tried and true software endemic to Sony Ericsson models, while the user interface is a slightly updated version of the familiar one found in older Sony Ericsson phones. If you are new to these handsets, don’t worry. The interface is easy to get the hang of, and favourites like text messaging and contacts are never too far away.

Multimedia wise, the T715 provides quality sound and basic music features. TrackID is there, which can identify a song using a few seconds of sample music you record, either from the inbuilt FM radio, or using an external microphone. This handset comes with PlayNow arena, an in-built music player that supports MP3 and AAC files, and displays album art.

The Sony Ericsson T715 carries only 90 megabytes of internal storage, but you can expand this using the microSD memory slot. While you have to remove the back of the phone to insert or remove your microSD card, it will give you up to 4 gigabytes of extra storage.

On the camera front, the T715 boasts a 3.2-megapixel camera with an impressive arsenal of features. There is a panoramic mode, the ability to take multiple shots with one press of a button and a video mode. You can also alter the white balance. There is no flash, but there is a photo light that makes night photos a possibility. The Sony Ericsson T715 has a little bit of everything, and is an excellent handset in its own right.
