The Sony Ericsson G502 is a solid bar handset that has a wide range of features in a blissfully simple package.
Weighing in at only 83.5 grams, the G502 is elegantly designed with splashes of different colour around the camera lens and navigation pad when compared with the rest of the handset. Whether you go for the Premium Black, Brilliant Hazel or, Celebrity Red, the handset will be glossy and glamorous.
The phone isn’t just easy to look at; it’s also easy to use. The screen on the G502 is 2 inches across, very large considering the size of the handset. The screen resolution is high, and the display clear and crisp. The keypad is well spaced, with intuitive shortcut keys that make for a relaxing user experience.
A 2-megapixel camera is built into the Sony Ericsson G502, not the best camera phone going around, but good enough. The camera also comes with a 4x digital zoom and a basic photo fix feature. The camera can additionally be used to record videos that can then be streamed or played back.
Video streaming is a breeze with the G502’s in-built 3G HSDPA technology. With HSDPA capability, this little Sony Ericsson allows you to browse the net, check emails with attachments, view Web feeds and stream movies online.
Emails are easily accessed using the Exchange ActiveSync function. The Sony Ericsson G502 also comes with an assisted global positioning system (aGPS). Support for both USB and Bluetooth connectivity makes the G502 a networking tool. The Sony Ericsson G502 comes with 32 megabytes of internal memory as well as a memory card slot that supports a Micro M2 memory stick.
Other neat features on this compact handset include flight mode, a quality speakerphone, an FM radio and a TrackID music recognition feature. This is a brilliant feature if you are the sort of person that recognises a song, but can’t for the life of you remember what it’s called!
