Optus have announced that the long anticipated Nokia Lumia 800 is now available for pre-order on some attractive online only offers.
Though the Nokia Lumia 800 isn't scheduled to go on sale in stores until the 1st of March, the plans released by Optus can give customers an idea of what to expect with the stylish smartphone. Running on new Microsoft software, the Nokia Lumia has been touted as "bringing together the very best of Nokia's handset design and services with the latest Windows Phone software" (Nokia Australia managing director Chris Carr).
In the new Optus plans, customers will be able to get the Nokia Lumia 800 on a $49 Optus Cap Plan with $0 monthly payments for the handset on a 24 month contract. It will also be available free for the first two months on the $59 Optus Cap Plan with $0 monthly payments on the handset on a 24 month contract.
For those who want to try out a smaller Nokia smartphone, Optus will also be offering the Nokia Lumia 710, a smaller Windows Phone 7 smartphone to be launched on the same day. Pre orders are available for the Nokia Lumia 710 on the $29 Optus Cap Plan with $0 monthly payments on the handset on a 24 month contract.
The Nokia Lumia 800 is a highly commended smartphone with 16GB of storage, 512MB of RAM, an 8 megapixel camera, and a 3.7 inch touch screen with high quality resolution. It's running the latest Windows Phone 7 software and will be the first major Windows Phone 7 smartphone launch since 2010.
