Vodafone have this week launched a free iPhone application that allows you to view and access all of your social networking sites via one easy interface.

Vodafone Update is an aggregation application that combines your Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn and Twitpic accounts together.

After you have given your details for each website and allowed the application to access them, you will be given a list of tweets, Facebook updates, new MySpace info and LinkedIn details in one screen. There is an icon on the right telling you which service each update is from. 

This new application is great for anyone who is addicted to social networking. From Vodafone Update you can tweet, retweet, like a status, comment or take a photo using Twitpic and geotag it so everyone knows where you are. You can even update your status in Facebook and send a tweet at the same time.

Vodafone Update was reviewed by the Good Gear Guide this week with favourable results. Reviewer Ross Catanzariti said that “despite the aggregation of up to four social-networking services, Vodafone Update's interface is clean and easy to read.”  The only thing missing, he said, was “the ability to add multiple Twitter accounts, so this effectively rules out the app for those who may have a work and a private account.” 

As well as being available on an iPhone, Vodafone Update is also able to be used on Android, BlackBerry, and Symbian S60 smartphones. Additionally, this great social networking helper can be can be downloaded as a desktop client for your computer, whether you have a Mac or a PC.
