The HTCs Touch Dual 850 is a slide phone with a full QWERTY keyboard and an even fuller collection of features.
Getting its name from the 850MHz HSDPA band that it runs on, the Dual 850 is an upgraded version of HTC’s earlier Touch Dual. This newer model is slim and sassy, with a matte finish and silver trimmings.
The controls of the HTC Touch Dual include the QWERTY keypad, which is easy to use despite its small size. Other buttons include a five-way navigational pad, a dedicated camera button and call and answer keys. HTC have included a stylus for screen work that is hidden nicely away in the bottom right-hand corner of the handset.
Connectivity is quick and easy with the Touch Dual 850’s HSDPA capabilities, and while there is no Wi-Fi, HTC has included Bluetooth with A2DP. As with other HTC devices, the Touch Dual 850 employs the TouchFLO user interface. This particular version minimises your need to use the stylus; the start menu is made of large icons, the task manager is well thought out and the phonebook has an alphabet on the side so you can find who you are looking for easily. There is also a 400Mhz processor and 128MB of RAM lurking in the depths of this HTC handset, improving the
speed and general user experience.
A 2 megapixel camera is included in the Touch Dual 850. It has a mirror for self portraits and a self timer function, but unfortunately there is no flash.
