While the Nokia 6220 Classic does have some timeless features, some aspects of this powerful candy bar handset are brand spanking new.
Starting with design, the Nokia 6220 Classic is wonderful to look at and hold. It comes in two colours (black and purple), has a metal edging and is made of a heavy duty matte plastic. While many other handsets are glossy fingerprint magnets, the 6220 Classic is unaffected by even the sweatiest of paws. This handset is much more rounded and subtle than the original brick-like 6220 that was launched in 2003. The keypad is stylishly designed, with the answer and end call buttons connecting with the central two button to give the controls a really nice shape.
The Nokia 6220 Classic uses the Symbian S60 user interface, a surprisingly powerful interface to be crammed in such a compact mobile phone. Upgrades to this system result in a wonderful user experience. Menus are easy to scroll though and lag is hardly a problem. The 6220 Classic also boasts HSDPA connectivity, so web browsing is fast and efficient.
Features of the Nokia 6220 Classic are headed by an impressive 5 megapixel camera. This powerful shooter has a Xenon flash, can record VGA video at 30 frames per second and has a dedicated lens cover. Nokia have also included a TV-out port on the handset so you can view your photos on a bigger screen. Other features include 3G capability, an FM radio, a microSD card slot and in-built GPS, which allows you to geo-tag your photos as well as let you figure out where you are.
