Looking at the BlackBerry Storm 9500 you would be forgiven for thinking it is a weird and wonderful combination of the all powerful iPhone and a traditional BlackBerry. However, with a new touchscreen experience and a pile of great features, you will soon see that Storm 9500 is a great phone in its own right.
Aesthetically, the BlackBerry Storm 9500 is as sexy as anything called Storm should be. Dark and brooding, with a blend of jet black plastic and stainless steel, this handset is professional but not without personality. The most striking feature is of course the visually dazzling, 3.25 inch touchscreen display.
BlackBerry have recruited SurePress technology for the Storm screen. This feature means that by touching the screen once you only highlight a button, not open the program. This might sound annoying for some, but for others it is a great way to minimise typos and making mistakes. The Storm 9500 touchscreen is capacitive rather than resistive, so it is very responsive.
Other perks of the BlackBerry Storm 9500 include a good quality multimedia player that supports a wide range of video formats and provides great playback. There is also a 3.5mm headphone jack so you can use whatever headphones you like. While BlackBerry has not give the Storm 9500 Wi-Fi capability, it is HSDPA and Bluetooth capable. A microSD card slot means you can pump up the storage of this handset and there is a 3 megapixel camera on the back with a dedicated camera button for taking happy snaps.
