The Nokia 5730 seems to have the lot. A funky look, good connectivity, full QWERTY and number keypad and dedicated music functions ensure that there is something to please everyone.
Aesthetically, the 5730 (or 5730 XpressMusic) is great fun. Most of the handset is black, but the edging comes in a number of bright colours including electric blue, shocking pink and vivid red. This coloured strip holds three dedicated music buttons for skipping, playing and stopping tunes.
There is a standard keypad and navigational wheel on the front of this Nokia handset, and you can also slide the top of the phone sideways to access a full QWERTY keyboard. All of these keys are well spaced and light up effectively, although they aren't quite as raised as some people might like. It is still a breeze to text, call and email with the 5730 however, and the choice of keypads is
a thoughtful addition.
As one of the XpressMusic handsets, the Nokia 5730 is well stocked with multimedia features. Apart from the dedicated music keys, there is also a very smart music player, podcasting capabilities, access to the Nokia music store and an FM radio that provides great reception. Nokia have also given the handset a 3.5mm headphone jack so you can use whatever headphones you like, although there are a pair of noise-cancelling ear buds included when you buy the phone.
Other features include a great little Facebook application, Google Maps, 3G connectivity and GPS. The Nokia 5730 also has a 3.2 megapixel camera with a Carl Zeiss lens.
