A truck load of features packed into a neat and pretty slider handset, the Nokia N86 takes a lot of people by surprise.
The Nokia N86 is a little chunky, but is very nice to hold and feels well built. It comes in both black and white, and has cute little buttons both on the face and on the keypad.
Connecting is no problem with the Nokia N86, as it offers almost any connection you could ever want or need. Bluetooth is here, as well as Wi-FI, 3G and HSDPA. Nokia have also thrown in GPRS and USB 2.0. Another gift from Nokia is an included 8GB microSD card, to be used in the built in card slot.
A major selling point of this Nokia handset is the 8 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens. You can take great shots with this camera, which has a dual LED flash and an autofocus function. The Nokia N86 also comes with a little kick stand at the back, so you can look at your photos (or watch videos) on the 2.6 inch display while the handset rests on a table.
There are plenty of programs to enjoy in the Nokia N86, both professionally and personally. There is a very powerful calendar program preloaded, which allows you to view and update your plans in many different ways. You can set a bunch of different alarms, record your voice and save notes. The N86 can also open Excel, Word, PowerPoint and PDF files with ease, although to edit them you have to download a separate application.
One more neat feature of the Nokia N86 is a text-to-speech program. This little function will read things like emails or text messages out loud to you so you can check your inbox while driving home or to work. The program can even be set to use different voices and languages.
Finally, the Nokia N86 comes with that rare mobile phone gift, a 3.5mm headphone jack. This means you can utilise the decent media player of this Nokia handset with your own headphones.
